3. What to know before coming to Romania?
- In Romania the national currency is RON ( 1 EUR = 4,96 RON/ 1 USD = 4,65 RON)
- Romania is part of the European Union, so if you are a UE citizen, you can enter the country only with a valid ID.
- Romania is not part of Schengen.
- Romania has an extensive transportation network. Major cities are connected by train, and buses are available for shorter distances and rural areas. Taxis and ride-sharing services are also common in urban centers.
- Depending on your nationality, you may or may not need a visa to enter Romania. Check with the Romanian embassy or consulate in your country to determine if you require a visa and the specific requirements.
